Rom Deussen Studio was started in the Washington, DC area, moving to
St. George, Utah, in early 2006.

Deussen is Roma born, meaning both her parents are Romani, and while early
on she leaned towards more modern dance, she returned to her ethnic roots
while in college.

Deussen has performed in an intimate show with Helm playing, both the
dinner and main stage shows at Rakkasah West, The Space Between's
pre-show and stage show of Cabaret,What Women Want Expo,
in many private and public shows in the  DC/Baltimorearea and the Southwest, from nursing home residents to
visiting royalty, and her personal favorite, while pushing the cart at the grocery
store.   She was also an instructor at Saqra's Showcase, 2008, in Eastern
Romani culture, etiquette, and dance.  Deussen also produces and perfoms in the SW Utah Student
Showcase, currently in its third year.

Rom can be hired for workshops in Eastern European Rom dance and costuming, Romipen
language, and Rom traditions, customs, and culture.

Using humor, acceptance, and a strong discipline to the dance in her classes,
Deussen warmly accepts all students regardless of ability, and will make the
necessary accomodations for physical limitations.
